Mentoring plays a very important role in the creation of Grampreneurs. To analyse and discuss this, the Bhartiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST) in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) conducted the International Mentoring Summit on ‘Mentoring Young Grampreneurs for Inclusive Growth on 9th November 2017 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The event witnessed important high-level discussions on National Agenda for Fostering Grampreneurs through Mentoring presented inspiring Grampreneurs stories from hinterlands and held deep interactions during three different sessions.

The eminent personalities participated were Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, HRH Prince Charles of Wales, Shri Raman Roy, CMD, Quatrro BPO Solutions, Shri Vipin Sondhi, MD & CEO, JCB India Ltd., Ms Lakshmi V Venkatesan, Founding and Managing Trustee, BYST

The lively discussions addressing the roles of multi-stakeholders-Government, private sector, financial and educational institutions in the entrepreneurial eco-system, saw participation by members and dignitaries such as Ms. Shobana Kamineni, President, Confederation of Indian Industry; Shri Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, State Bank of India; Shri Subodh Bhargava, Member, Board of Trustees, BYST, Shri Ashutosh Sharma Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Shri Kishore Kharat, MD & CEO, Indian Bank, Shri Yaduvendra Mathur, Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog, Shri Arun Maira, Senior Advisor, Boston Consulting Group, Shri Kishore Jayaraman, President –India & South Asia, Rolls Royce.

This particular event emphasized on the creation of jobs and empowering people with skills along with development of villages. The program also saw the exchange of MoUs between the State Bank of India and the Bhartiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST), release of a White Paper on Mentoring Grampreneurs and presentation of Silver Jubilee Awards to three of the best performing start-up Grampreneurs
